New Website to Promote every business in Ireland

Hi Ladies & Gents

I have to share this with you,
I mentioned in one of my posts about my new venture, Well it is going live very soon.
Today a welcome page went up to let everyone know about the site, this is not the look of the launch site, that will be different and very professional and so user friendly.

My new site is called http://www.shopin.ie

Let me fill you in a little.
I work in the 32 counties of Ireland and over the year i have witnessed so many businesses closing down and advertising was one of their big problems.
They were great businesses but not many in their area knew they were there.
Then some of them had no webpages or email addresses.
and to make it worse people from their own communities were going else where because they had no idea that that business existed.

So i decided that i had to do something to help put this economy back together faster than the government could.



With http://www.Shopin.ie i will be promoting every business in every town also every user that signs in with an address of a certain county or town that user will be notified every month of promotions going on in their town and county.

Ever business in a town or county will have a web page to upload a special offer every month by the 26th of a month and on the 28th of the month the mass email will be sent to all users of that town or county.

there will also be events held by http://www.shopin.ie around the country to support that town and get it advertised on tv and radio.

there will be a voucher card available to all users giving them 5% discount in any business who display the shopin.ie logo.

Also there will be a featured county, town & business every week on the main website thus promoting again.
there there will be a person of the community award given every month to different towns.

Voting will be by the users and they will be notified on tv and radio to support their community.
it will all be about shop local and get your town back on track

the only fee involved in this site for a business is € 250 per year and this will go back into the website to ensure that the site can be advertised on National Tv and radio, Plus local media.

If we all work together then we can beat the economy down turn and take our towns and counties to another level.

The amount of businesses signed up already is huge thank god and that was just because i spoke to them and explained what i was doing.
there will be a competition launched in about three weeks time as a pre launch and that is open to everyone.

so ladies there you have the jist of it, what i have been up to, I AM GOING TO MAKE SURE THAT http://WWW.SHOPIN.IE IS THE FIRST PLACE A PERSON GOES TO TO FIND WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR IN IRELAND.

yes that is just the holding site, the live site is in the form of the map of Ireland,

The competition site will be live in ten days time and that will also be the map of ireland but it will be a jigsaw that you have to put back to gether,

Interesting idea - and the very best of luck with it.

A couple of comments on the site, as it is at present.

If you are asking for early stage registrations, then the phrase Enquiry Form is a little off topic.
You don't list either T&Cs or Contact details, which may impair credibility and gaining registrants.
As a business website, you will also need to include companies registration details, etc.

But I'm sure that these will all be addressed in time.

Thanks a million for your reply.

The site that is up at the moment is not what the site will look like and the web master is adding this info in the next few hours,
the enquirey form is just for businesses to email us about what the site will entail, it is not for someone to sign up yet.

The main competition site will be launched in 10 days and that will have the correct sing up for registration of businesses.

we only put up a brief statement on what the site is aiming to do in the future.

Since it went live yesterday we have had over 900 enquiries and have replied to all of them, as of this morning we have had 550 sing ups,
the whole concept is turning heads very fast because we are focusing on promoting businesses at a local level as well as national.

the webmaster is working on the main site and competition site as we speak, when you see it you will love it, wait and see,

What a wonderful idea. I would be interested once I checked my budget. I do have one question though. My little Au Pair Agency offers a service (Au Pair Placements) and I cover the whole of Ireland. How would I advertise that through your site.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions. I can imaging you must be so exited... what a great way to promote Ireland. Will definately give you a link on my website for that.

Fantastic idea and it will be a success I am sure. Just as you have done on this site it will be driving up the awareness of the on-line offering off-line to encourage a huge drive in traffic to your site/s.

Well done Maureen, looks like you have put a lot of work into this - I truly hope the effort pays off.
One thing I have noticed - there are a few directory style sites coming on line almost monthly now, how are you managing the competition there? I have loads of questions but I think a lot of them will be answered once the site is up and running. I have actually held off joining of any such sites and am intrigued about your concept and where you will take it.

But fair play on the uptake - there must be huge energy and exposure behind this - you mentioned national media coverage in your e-mail.

We will be all watching closely I'm sure

keep us updated when everything is all systems go.
