Do you use Linkedin

Postby pginvestment » Fri Jan 15, 2010 10:37 pm

Hi,

As a big fan of linkedin, I would like to invite you to join and connect with me. My profile can be found at http://ie.linkedin.com/in/paulaguilfoyle

Linkedin has proved to be a very useful business and networking tool. Finding myself unemployed in Sept 2008, 50% of the roles I secured, I secured through linkedin, including my current employment. I am also a member of a number of discussion groups within Linkedin, and the information given and opions expressed by other members has been very usefull.

I have not updated my profile with details of the business I am launching in March(http://www.theexcelclub.com), as I intend on useing liknedin as part of my Launch marketing campeign.

Hope to see you on linkedin. http://www.linkedin.com

Hi,
I do use LinkedIn and would be pleased to link with you - I find it useful as well, particularly the discussions in groups that I am a member of.
But how do we link with you if we don't know you - are you not required to know a person's email address at least? or is there another way to link?
Happy to link anyway, here's my profile link: http://ie.linkedin.com/pub/jill-holtz/0/42/a6a

I don't utilise LinkedIn as much as i should but i have a few recommendations on there from clients which is great for giving me business. I'm also part of a few groups online on LinkedIn but again, time is such a rareity at the moment that i'm not getting the full benefit from it. But it's served me well to date anyway!

I spent a great deal of time setting up my Linked in profile...and I must say, it was fun trying to find and contact old work colleagues who are now spread all over the world! It was amazing to see how many of them were on Linked in and using it so often.

I would love to link in with any other Irish Business Women affiliates and start building up each others profiles and contacts!

I look forward to hearing from anyone who would like to link/view my profile on http://www.linkedin.com/in/berniemccullough

I would follow you on twitter JenniferMarie, but you have it protected, I don't follow anyone who keeps it protected. Post up your LinkedIn profile here and I'll add you.

I use LinkedIn, but I only like to connect with people I *really* know and have worked with.
My profile: http://www.linkedin.com/in/heatherjames

However I do like to use it for groups, which is another way to connect to people you would like to meet or don't know yet. I find that you have to make invite-only groups, or ones where people must have their accounts approved first. As a group manager you see alot of funny attempts of people joining. (people without full profiles, might possibly be spammers).

We have one group for our Open Coffee Sligo group, if anyone is interested in joining.

Hi,

I think its one of those things where it works for some and not others. Its all about connections and I think to get something out of it you need to actively use it. A bit like Twitter and Facebook. Without Fans or Followers its pointless but it takes time to build up following. If you can its great as you can get your message out to lots of people very quickly. Personally I'd see linked in more for Networking than a sales tool. Facebook and Twitter would be more for that.
