Postby caroline » Mon Jul 21, 2008 6:09 pm

Hi, Can highly recommend this event, as have been to the 2 previous. Fantastic speakers, I dont know Tommy Griffith, but I have heard great things about John Concannon. He is also a brother of Gerry Concannon of CBE, here in Claremorris.

Just thought I would post it here in to remind anyone that might be interested.

Kind Regards

Due to the interest shown in the "Spirit of Entrepreneurship Evening" in
Sept 2007, the Innovation in Business Centre at GMIT Castlebar will be holding another event on Thursday the 11th Sept at approx 7pm.

Tommy Griffith, founder of PEL Recycling Equipment in Balla, Co. Mayo,
has become a market leader, designing, manufacturing and supplying Bottle Crushers, Oil Filter Crushers, cardboard and plastic reduction equipment, food disposal units and other equipment to customers all over the UK and Ireland.
He was winner of Shell Live Wire Regional Award for Innovation and was finalist in the Irish SFA Awards for Innovation.

John Concannon from Galway, runner up in the Ernst and Young Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year 2005, built JFC Manufacturing from scratch. John will tell his story of how this Irish firm has expanded from humble beginnings in Tuam in 1987 to its present international status employing over 175 people and has branches in Poland, the Netherlands plus several in the UK as well as its parent plant in Tuam, Co. Galway.

The two guest entrepreneurs at this series will talk about their experiences of setting-up and running their businesses emphasising the highs and lows encountered along their entrepreneurial journey and highlighting the secrets of their entrepreneurial success.

After each seminar, attendees will have the opportunity to ask probing
questions of the guest entrepreneur.

To help with the early stage planning of this event we would be grateful if you could indicate your interest in attending by responding to this email.
Places are limited therefore please register your interest early.

Kind regards
