Regrets. I have more than a few.

Hello all.

Sadly, I cannot be with you at Mullingar, this year, for I will be in Listowel on the same dates and while Aileen may be able to be in the kingdom and elsewhere at the same time, I cannot.
I made loads of friends in Westport last year with whom I am still in touch; so I would encourage as many members as have not been to conference before to attend.
It's more than a conference: it's a gathering and a happening and the beginning of something new, if you so choose.

Next year, for sure.

i know - it's just a b**ls because it keeps me going for the year - i come back completely elated thinking yes - hey yes - I can do this!

i had just the best few days around the conference - anyone who had to listen to me whining the night before the conference over the love of my life leaving me for another woman will be glad to hear it.

i left the conference very happy and got lost between mulligar and athlone (those two towns do not have signs to point at each other at all) - but i got a laugh because i wandered through no less than three little towns in offaly each proclaiming to be the 'hometown of an taoiseach brian cowen'
but then i got to listowel and got to meet my cousins and another ibw online friend offline - brendan nolan - where we spent a happy evening following players around pubs of my teenhood listening to exceprts from john b keanes plays and drinking beer and finishing up in john b keanes pub.
brendan i am sorry for my impromptu departure but jumbos was closing and i feared for my snack box and curry sauce.

i look forward to next year!

There's a lot of that in neighbouring towns, I find... Ballina and Castlebar seem totally unaware of each other's existance... and we drove in circles around Tralee looking for the rest of Kerry once

When you said, in between Berkeley performing her stunning a cappella solo in John B Keane’s open-air beer garden and Meg launching into a haunting Summertime, that you wanted to go to Jumbo's, I understood this to be an all-night circus, not a chipper.

The attraction of pink sauce is interesting and I wonder if you have considered becoming Jumbo's master franchiser?

With a little diligence, everybody, everywhere, could then see pink elephants all night long.

For my part, I’m still waiting for the clowns to show up.
