Promoting the conference - how you can help

We have made all the arrangements for the Conference, with a great line-up of speakers, not to mention our own IBW members who will present on the day

All we need to do now is ensure that on the day we have a full house

So.... we want your help in promoting the Conference.

Lesley Emerson of PR West, who is based in Westport, has agreed to co-ordinate our PR drive and will post here to let everyone know what might be done. She will lots of ideas on what might be done. You may have your own ideas and if so please share them. Together we can make the 2008 Conference a never to be forgotten success

Hi everyone,

I’m delighted to say I’ll be co-ordinating publicity for the conference this year. There’s a great line up and I’d love to spread the news far and wide about how good the IBW conference is. Since our online community covers the whole country, I’m wondering if any of you out there would like to help. Do you have contacts in your local paper which you’d either like to pass on to me, or place an article with? (I’ll send you the article and photos of course.) Would you be in a position to arrange an interview with your local radio station about the conference? I could arrange a speaker or maybe Frank from Mayo CEB to join in.

Your own business would get some positive publicity from this as well, so it's not an entirely altruistic gesture!!

The conference (and IBW) are relevant to women in business everywhere, so no matter where you are, you can do IBW a favour.

Even though i can't be there myself this year, i will include a note on the conference on this months E-zine, which i will be sending out to my clients later on in the week.

Thanks to everyone who sent me media information. Press releases have gone out to everyone, and to media in the surrounding counties.

Could I ask people to keep an eye out for coverage and to let me or Frank Fullard know if anything appears? We don't have a press cuttings service in place, so articles in local papers could slip by without us knowing.

I will be chasing up on radio interviews next week, so thanks to anyone who sent me local contacts there.

It's great to be involved in a conference where the delegates are also part of the organisation. That's a big part of what makes IBW different.

I'm not sure I've ever posted a reply to my own post in IBW before!

Anyway, I just wanted to ask if anyone has noticed any conference publicity out there. I know there has been coverage in our own local papers here in Mayo. A couple of Louth papers were very interested in Noemi's story and were planning to print an article - maybe Noemi or someone else in the Dundalk area would let me know if any coverage appears.

Lots of people have already booked for the conference but I'm pretty sure there are women out there who would just love to attend if they knew about IBW. I hope we'll have some radio interviews next week too, that might spread the word a bit. After all, it wouldn't be right to keep this particular light hidden under a bushel.

Thanks I got info from you and from Anne Kiely and followed up on all the press ones, sent them a Kerry specific press release. I was hoping to hear from you that you'd seen coverage!
